U.S. Virgin Islands

The U.S. Virgin Islands consist of three separate islands as an unincorporated territory of the U.S. The climate is tropical, with low humidity and eastern trade winds and the land is hilly, making the U.S. Virgin Islands a particularly popular vacation spot for those who enjoy hiking among the lush rainforests and rugged mountains.

When on your U.S. Virgin Islands vacation, make sure to visit Buck Island Reef National Monument, established to preserve one of the finest marine gardens in the Caribbean. This monument is located on Saint Croix, the largest of the three islands that make up the territory. St. John is the place to visit if you’re searching for the perfect hiking trail. St. Thomas is a popular cruise ship destination, and home to Coral World an ocean park where you can pet a shark, feed a stingray and view the life of a coral reef. All of the islands provide wonderful opportunities for those interested in diving, swimming or snorkeling.
You can take a taxi or bus on the U.S. Virgin islands, but if you’re up for a challenge, rent a car! This can be a bit of a different experience, as while traffic moves on the left, most of the cars are imported from the U.S. But if you can get used to driving in these unusual circumstances, a car from a U.S. Virgin Islands rental company makes a convenient and flexible choice.
U.S. Virgin hotel options range from full-service luxury resorts on St. Croix to tranquil and serene accommodations on St. John. And St. Thomas offers some of the widest variety of hotel options, ranging from resort to budget.
