Saint Lucia is a British Commonwealth country first colonized by the English and French in the 17th and 18th century. It changed hands between the two over 14 times! Saint Lucia has been independent since 1979.

On your Saint Lucia trip, make sure you take some time to visit Sulfur Springs! These hot springs are one of the most enduring attractions of the island and a perfect place to take a relaxing dip. And if you have time, spend an afternoon – or even an entire day – on one of the official rain forest hiking trails. A Jungle Safari tour is a great way to see the rainforest and learn about the history of Saint Lucia.

Saint Lucia is a popular cruise ship destination, because of the friendly locals and fun atmosphere. Festivals and parties full of music, dancing, drinks and delicious food are held weekly! Make sure to grab a bottle of Piton Lager, a beer brewed and bottled on Saint Lucia or try the famous Saint Lucia Rum Punch! Traditional cuisine consists of curry, jerk, rice or stews, but you can find a Saint Lucia restaurant to suit any taste, budget or craving with a little bit of exploration.

Saint Lucia is a perfect tourist destination for travelers of all budgets and tastes, with Saint Lucia hotel options ranging from full service resort hotels to tiny villas. There are even resorts specializing in environmentally friendly tourists!

The border between the two countries is defined only by a few signs and monuments. However, they do use different power systems – so when packing any electrical devices for your St. Martin’s trip, make sure to bring the right power converters along!

With two completely different halves of the island to choose from, Saint Martin has something for everyone. Nature lovers will probably chose to visit the French side, which is full of natural beauty, sandy beaches and rocky coves. Those looking for a little extra night life will probably prefer the Dutch side, which is more highly developed and full of casinos and night clubs. Of course, if you want it all, a quick visit to a Saint Martin’s rental car agency will provide you with the option to get anywhere within minutes.

Philipsburg on the Dutch side of Saint Martin is a popular cruise ship destination, because there’s so much to see and do on the island. Visit Butterfly farm and stroll underneath a net tent filled with beautiful butterflies. Or for a little more adventure, visit The Fly Zone at Loterie Farm – a Zip Line tour and obstacle course high in the trees! And of course Saint Martin has a number of beautiful beaches for sunning, swimming and snorkeling. Topless bathing is common and Orient Beach on the French side and Cupecoy Bay on the Dutch side are both nude beaches.

Most Saint Martin’s hotels tend to be on the pricier side, although there are a few budget options. December through April are peak travel times times, but on Saint Martin’s, there’s something to do any time of year!

St. Barts is the perfect vacation for those interested in beautiful, pristine beaches, luxury accommodations and upscale food. With twenty-two beautiful beaches and world-famous scuba , snorkeling and boating, visiting St. Barts is truly stepping into paradise. A popular jet set destination, it can be nearly impossible to find accommodations during the Christmas and New Year’s season, but a few vacation packages are usually available during off-season, and often include a St. Barts car or jeep rental.

The official language on St. Barts is French, but many of the locals speak English. And while you can get married on St. Barts, one of the happy couple needs to be a resident of the island for at least a month – so most St. Barts weddings are actually beautiful blessing ceremonies rather than true weddings.

St. Barts restaurant options tend toward the gourmet, elegant and expensive. And while there are a few St. Barts’ hotels to choose from, most vacationers choose to rent villas on their stay. Ranging in size from tiny one bedroom cottages to luxurious six-bedroom residences, St. Barts has options for romantic getaways or group vacations alike. Those who do choose to stay in a hotel will not be disappointed, as St. Barts caters to high-end tourism.

When on your U.S. Virgin Islands vacation, make sure to visit Buck Island Reef National Monument, established to preserve one of the finest marine gardens in the Caribbean. This monument is located on Saint Croix, the largest of the three islands that make up the territory. St. John is the place to visit if you’re searching for the perfect hiking trail. St. Thomas is a popular cruise ship destination, and home to Coral World an ocean park where you can pet a shark, feed a stingray and view the life of a coral reef. All of the islands provide wonderful opportunities for those interested in diving, swimming or snorkeling.

You can take a taxi or bus on the U.S. Virgin islands, but if you’re up for a challenge, rent a car! This can be a bit of a different experience, as while traffic moves on the left, most of the cars are imported from the U.S. But if you can get used to driving in these unusual circumstances, a car from a U.S. Virgin Islands rental company makes a convenient and flexible choice.

U.S. Virgin hotel options range from full-service luxury resorts on St. Croix to tranquil and serene accommodations on St. John. And St. Thomas offers some of the widest variety of hotel options, ranging from resort to budget.

Grand Turk island is the home of the capital city, Cockburn Town. Famous for some of the most lush walls in the world, people from all over the world come to take advantage of the scuba diving among clear waters, elaborate coral reefs and exotic fish. Snorkeling is also extremely popular. When not in the water, tourists may decide to spend a day touring one of the islands by jeep or on horseback, or taking a luxury spa treatment.

While taxis are available on the Turks and Caicos islands, the best option when on a Turks and Caicos vacation is to opt for car rental. This gives you the flexibility of seeing the islands on your own schedule and for a reasonable price!

Visitors to St. Kitts and Nevis can enjoy some wonderful rainforest hiking, although a guided tour is often recommended, as paths are not always well marked. The number of historic ruins and fortifications left by British settlers make an interesting destination to the historic-minded, including Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park.

Nevis is one of the most inexpensive Caribbean vacation destinations, particular in terms of restaurant choices – your more inexpensive meals are often the best on the island. Nevis restaurants feature delicious and fresh cuisine to fit any palate, from the sophisticated to the simple. St. Kitts and Nevis hotel options range from full-service luxury resorts to quaint little cottages.

Most travel on the island can be done through micro-buses, which you simply flag down as they pass. Taxis are also an option, and temporary driver’s licenses can be obtained if you decide to visit a St. Kitts and Nevis car rental agency.

Most of Puerto Rico is mountainous, with sandy coastal beaches. Horseback riding, fishing, golf, tennis, kayaking, surfing and scuba diving are all popular vacation pastimes. Visitors to Puerto Rico should be sure to visit El Yunque, Puerto Rico’s beautiful rain forest and hike to La Mina waterfalls. The bioluminescent bays of Fajardo and Vieques should also not be missed if you’re lucky enough to be in Puerto Rico on a dark evening…every drop of water glows and it’s a magical experience, whether you’re kayaking on the water or viewing it from one of the restaurants along the bay.

Authentic Puerto Rican cuisine consists of a lot of pork and a lot of plantains – but the numerous restaurants that fill the island means there’s something for everyone! Enjoy an elaborate, if pricey, sit down meal, or stray off the beaten path in search of roadside dining.

Puerto Rico is home to a number of large hotel chains, as well as boutique hotels , luxury resorts and furnished apartment rentals.
